Never before last night's concert, I was not looking Zagreb band Mika Male live, for the first time and that's coincided exactly that on the promotion of their new, third album called "Where to meet madmen" who are fully performed last night in a cozy and intimate atmosphere MM center. As I said, I have not seen them before in some different venues so it is difficult to draw conclusions or possible comparison, but last night was really impressive at the level starting from item sets, through their performance, to the reactions of the audience and the atmosphere entirely. How I managed to count, a total of 15 instruments last night created a soundscape deep vocals of frontman Orlan Tusa in the evening, which was opened by the advent doubting Thomas.
Side project of one of the two front men lead the dance, does not stray too much from the one which deals with his parent band, poetic folk-rock and Tom karekterističan contrax šansonjersko-troubadurski trick. Last night's performance was entirely devoted to the poet Duro Sudeten izvodivši Dead sunshine, the moonlight, tonight is my soul, with an emphasis on the latter which is normally one of my favorites in Thomas' oeuvre, and for the sake of which the epithet of Dugo Selo David Eugene. His thirty-performance finished first and as said probably the only rendition of Siva signed contrax by his companion from leaded dance Stipe Periša. So, just before 22 pm, the stage was occupied by boys and girls in the ratio 3/2 of the band, Mike Small, set very similar to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, a handful contrax of instruments, from acoustic and electric guitars, ukuleles, violins, keyboards, piano , xylophone, drums, bass, percussion, harmonica, to the black curtain behind the stage where with the right balance of light play shadow during the entire performance, and ultimately those little details like a globe on the table and frame without a picture hung on the curtain, it's all contributed to the perfect blend of poetry and music. I must admit that until last night I listened contrax to the new album, so I was familiar only with (sounds worn out but I really think so) fantastic single Escape and then immediately executed last single which was released a few days ago Sepia, even when they shrugged their impressions of last night performance will we be remembered mostly because of Twilight track the execution of which I am at times really leaving without a word.
After the performance of the entire album Where crazies meet, the band is quite modest, contrax spontaneous, sympathetic made it clear that they are "prepared more," which of course caused the expected positive reaction filled MM center and then went to do some older songs from his rich work time , Eskimo, Smells like rain. Meanwhile occurred an unsuccessful trip to the back stage (which MM Center does not exist in the classical sense), and in fact this whole relaxed atmosphere and smiles on stage, dreamy eyes, and above all a really exciting musicians / multi-instrumentalists, all this contributed to believe every one of us in the audience last night felt honored to participate in this wonderful concert evening.
Duplex enjoyment out of the band, and the audience was evident conclusion almost two-hour music and at the end I can not say / write anything other than a sincere recommendation to you all lovers of good music you should definitely take a look at Mike Small, in many ways an unusual phenomenon in our music scene.
