Tying knots in a subscriber's cable wires during repair Lamp Socket is a security measure. The knot absorbs stress and maintain wiring securely connected socket on the terminal screws, prevent short circuit if the cord is suddenly pulled rochman or placed under pressure.

Cut the wires on the lamp cord by two to three inches with a knife between wires. Use the knife or wire strippers to remove about 1/2 inch from the cover to expose the metal filaments. Continue bending down, then right behind the unspliced portion of the lamp cord. Cable end should extend an inch beyond the starting point of the loop. Hold it with your left thumb and forefinger. Double the V right cable to the right and down behind extended end of the loop on the left, then front unspliced wire. Pass the end of the appropriate cable tie through the left loop. Pull both ends to finish the knot subscriber. Loosen rochman the terminal rochman screws with a screwdriver. Twisting the wires of each wire to facilitate the wrapping tightly around the screws. The black or flat cable (also known as the "hot" wire) goes to the screw terminal or golden yellow. The white neutral wire or grooved screws will often silver in color. Connect each wire to the terminal post by wrapping the wire 3/4 clockwise around the screw. Tighten with a screwdriver. Slide the shell over the socket and place the lid back on to complete the installation. Replace the bulb and the screen.
