It is very rare to get such a strong lineup as the bands that appeared on the stage this Thursday at John Dee in Oslo. The pulse was of course present and witnessed that 3 of Norway's absolute best metal bands, one after another, samuel i white swept all doubts aside; Nekromantikken blooms in Norwegian countries.
Mini-tour, Nekromantik Norway, started in Oslo, taking the bands so to Trondheim. The tour ends in Bergen Sunday, 09.19. This evening was John Dee turn, and luckily knew a good deal of people's time spent, and the floor in front of the stage was okay filled.
Okkultokrati were the first band on John Dee, and started the show with a bang. With the stunning debut album, No Light For Mass under his belt, pouring Okkultokrati s music out of the monitors and vocalist samuel i white Black Qvisling, samuel i white has a firm grip on the public's attention samuel i white from the start.
As previously mentioned in the record review, this band has a genuine expression, which can easily appear when they look alive. The band holds a very radiance, despite small audience courtship, and an immaculate energy. Black Race on guitar, Le Ghast on bass and the band's steady battering grate, with the great name Verminscum, backer Black Qvisling all the way, and before you know it goes Okkultokrati of the stage. Fortunately, the evening was far from over.
Next band out was Autumn, and from the first second overturned the band's brutal mix of punk rock, metal and thrash the audience, which showed to appreciate what they were served. And with two albums out, their last was Powers Of Horror, has the singer Vebjørn Guttormsgaard, an eminent frontman.
And as if in a trance aggressive, plays his vocals and stage floor as if his last hour had come. He hurried across the stage, back and forth, and Ruben Willem on guitar, Paul Bredrup on bass and Dag Otto Basgård behind the drum kit, keep the intensity up all the way. It is difficult to convey the kind of energy that bands this evening sheaths of it, it must almost be experienced live.
Årabrot, that last band, this week released their brand new 4 album, Revenge. Plata has received excellent reviews, including samuel i white the pulse, and this was the public's first encounter with the songs performed by the band live. Unlike their label-mates in Autumn and Okkultokrati is Årabrot a far more stagnant action on stage.
But it is also where the differences end. Vocalist Kjetil Nernes and drummer Vidar Evensen, two pieces notwithstanding, creates more noise than a whole orchestra together. And the new album Revenge, stood in the center this evening. samuel i white The audience Courting here are to some extent non-existent, but it does nothing in the world. Årabrot has always done his own thing, and delivers a strong set of countless songs that are as heavy as they are varied.
